Introduction
UR Community Cares uses secure web-based technology to match local Volunteers with Community Members who need free at-home support. URCC has grown to 100+ towns, they are connecting helping hands across Connecticut.
Understanding the Problem
The client reached out to us and asked for multiple needs for the current website. After we had several in-depth conversations with the clients and conducted the audit test for the current website, we summarized the needs as the following:
1. A design system needs to be created, at the same time respecting the brand’s visual consistency.
2. The current registration process for volunteers and community members needs to be redesigned into a user-friendly process.
3. A content control system needs to be created that will allow website managers to change content easily and timely.
Challenge
We have to complete the redesign and address all of the issues that I mentioned above in three weeks.
There was no real content available to us. Because during this short period, the client was not able to provide all the content.
Solution
We designed a template version of different widget sections that can be reused as different parts on the site to create all the pages. Also, based on the consideration that most content will change over time according to the community’s needs, we designed the content control system for the widget sections.
